Installation of Hollow Metal Doors, Frames, and Hardware
Metal doors are ideal for commercial applications. They’re resilient, easy to maintain, durable, and will look great on your property. These doors can also be easily resurfaced and refinished, making them as good as new; and they add a level of security because they’re not easy to break into.
That’s one of the reasons why our commercial clients at Absolute Drywall Construction seem to prefer metal doors to wooden ones. When our clients ask us for our opinions, we generally recommend metal doors unless they have some particular requirements.
Installing Door Frames
Doors won’t open and close smoothly if the frame isn’t properly installed and this is especially true for hollow metal doors. Unlike wood, the edges of metal doors can’t be sanded down to ensure that the corners don’t rub against it. Our installation experts install the frame very carefully, making sure that all corners are level. We measure the wall carefully and cut the frame exactly according to the size of the doorway.
This is the first step to a smooth installation. With our vast experience as a carpentry contractor in Washington D.C., we know that if the frame doesn’t sit well on the walls, the door will not fit well either. Once the frame is installed, we check all the sides to ensure that it’s completely level before moving on to the next step.
Installing the Door
Once the frame is installed, we start installing the door. Hollow metal doors are available in a number of sizes and can be used on various commercial properties. Whether you have a large doorway or a small one, you will find a metal door that would fit. We can also custom-order one from a manufacturer, to install a door that’s right for your property.
We also install heavy-duty hinges that can endure a lot of movement easily. If the hinges don’t work well, the door can become unbalanced. We attach the door to the hinges and the hinges to the door frame carefully to ensure that its level and that it will open and close smoothly. Once the door is properly installed, our expert carpentry contractor in Northern Virginia will finish the job by installing the hardware.
