Most steel buildings are just that, made up of only steel. However, post-frame, also known as post barn steel buildings incorporate wood elements into their design. Thus, making them a unique structure that deserves attention.
Typically, post-frame steel buildings are built from a specific type of engineered wood. These types of buildings were developed way back in the 1930’s. And then refined later so they can work with a variety of structures. Because of their wide range of permitted uses, post-frame steel structures have become popular.
Foundation And Materials
All a post barn needs is a little bit of ground leveling to construct. By using some concrete footer pads, the weight is easily dispersed allowing for a seamless pour of concrete. Typically, posts are treated and set at least four feet into the ground to enhance the ground base.
This is where the steel comes into play. Oftentimes you will have a pre-painted steel roof and wall panels which are mounted to the wooden frame. If there is any room for insulation, having a post barn steel system allows you to easily install large quantities of insulation leaving you with plenty of extra room. Sometimes, the attic can even leave you with a ton of room for insulation to be installed there as well as in the walls.
Building Made Easy
Post-frame steel buildings are some of the easiest structures to install. With the minimal materials required, they are a very inexpensive option when choosing the type of building you want to construct. A post frame building will be able to handle larger loads than various other structures and will be able to leave a larger cavity for insulation.
